ASU’s best kept secret…. Decision Theater

For those of us that know Decision Theater, this post is not for you. But, if you have no idea what this is or what I’m talking about, allow me to introduce you to the future of decision-making.

Have you ever thought about why hard public issues hardly ever get solved? A lot has to do with politics, but most notably, the delay in action is due to our inexperience and discomfort with taking risk.

The Decision Theater at ASU is a center dedicated to the incorporation of situation technology in assessing the real effects of policy decisions. From AZ water policy to raising or lowering educational taxes, ASU Decision Theater incorporates technology in an innovative and interactive assimilation of weighing real world decisions.

If you ever have a slot of time I definitely guarantee you checking them out. Check out their incredible list of programming available to all ASU students and staff: http://dt.asu.edu

  1. So this post may not have been for me, as I have indeed heard of it, but I wanted to comment because I am glad someone recommended it. It's great to get the word out, this is a hugely useful tool for the school of sustainability! Many term projects from the school of sustainability turn to the decision Theater to turn it into more than just a project, its been awesome to experience that via my classmates.

  2. Hi Josue and Liz,

I have not heard of this and really appreciate you making all of us aware of it! It sounds like it is a great place to look into the real effects of why policy decisions are made and why. Thanks for this, and I will definitely check it out, especially if it is a handy tool for sustainability -- thanks again!
